Varilight Intermediate Switches are suitable for controlling both mains and low voltage lighting in circuits that are controlled by three switches, one of the switches in the circuit must be an Intermediate Switch like this with four terminals enabling you to link all three switches together. Intermediate Switches have a rating of 10 Amps.

The Varilight Rocker Switch Range will fit into standard size UK back boxes, the 1,2,3 gang units can be installed with a space for a single size back box, the 4 & 6 gang units can be installed with a space for a double sized back box, our range of back boxes are available from 25mm to 47mm to meet whatever requirements you may have. The most common metal 25mm and Plasterboard 35mm are linked here.
We recommend the Varilight Rocker Switch Range are installed within a back box of 25mm or more. The size of the module at the back of the size is 16mm deep, depending on the finish and style you choose, the depth required will change. For example, standard plate designs have a bevelled edge which recesses the rocker module so minimum depth of installation is 12mm, ultra flat designs fit flush to the wall and require a minimum depth of 16mm and the screwless designs also require a minimum of 16mm.
