The V-Pro Dimmer Series are perhaps most innovative in their ability to Dim LED bulbs. This J Series Dimmer can be used with Incandescent GLS Lamps, Dichroic Lamps (1-20 Transformers), CFL bulbs (such as the YCA20D E27 Screw Fitting or B22 Bayonet Fitting and GU10 Halogens or similar Hi Spot Mains Halogen lamps (only use quality UK supplied lamps). With a minimum load of only 10 watts, this V Pro Dimmer Switch reduces power consumption and is ideal for use with LED's.
The dimmer has a Soft Start when turned on, meaning it won't instantly turn on to full capacity. This not only extends the life of the lamp and bulb, but saves energy and gives a steady, welcoming effect when turned on. It has a built in heat sensor to prevent damage to the dimmer if it becomes too hot.
The V-Pro Series Dimmers are compatible with Mains Voltage Lighting, Trailing Edge Loads, Leading Edge Loads & Low Voltage Transformers (see below for suggested transformers), switching off under gross overload, thus protecting components & product life. It can NOT be used as a Fan Isolater, with Wire-Wound Low Voltage Transformers or Inductive Loads.
You can use other quality low voltage transformers, but we would recommend using the Varilight low voltage transformers (product codes: YT50, YT70, YT105, YT150, YT250) for their long life quality and ease of installation. With quality low voltage transformers you can control them up to maximum load as specified on the dimmer, any number of transformers up to the maximum rating may be connected. Additional features include self-resetting overload & thermal protection.
